Paper Gardens literary contest event May 9

The Paper Gardens literary contest will honor writers chosen for this year’s book at an event Thursday, May 9, in the Chehalem Cultural Center, 415 E. Sheridan St., Newberg.

Door will open at 6:30 p.m. for the 7 to 8:30 p.m. event. Admission is free.

Poets and prose writers will have a chance to read their work to the audience. Judges Sindya Bhanoo and Annie Lighthart will invite writers to the stage.
